Alfie's return sparks Sens Daniel Alfredsson couldn?t have written a much better script in his return from a shoulder injury last night.

He had a goal and two assists and goalie Mike Brodeur got his third straight win as the Senators beat the Canadiens 4-2 at the Bell Centre.

Binghamton callup Zack Smith scored his first NHL goal, Chris Phillips had the winner and Mike Fisher ended a 15-game drought as the Senators moved to 2-2 on this road trip.

Alfredsson, who has 29 goals and 68 assists in 73 games vs. Montreal, was scheduled to be out 4-6 weeks. He took part in the morning skate and, after missing 11 games, decided he would play.
