Senators take a thrashing in Atlanta

Senators take a thrashing in Atlanta Ottawa Senators coach Cory Clouston finds himself in a tight spot Friday.

He has cast his lot with Brian Elliott as the National Hockey League team’s No. 1 goalie, uncertain when or if Pascal Leclaire can return to any sort of decent form after the injuries (broken cheekbone and concussion).

However, to say that Elliott is not inspiring any confidence these days is to be mild. He’s making everyone nervous.

After giving up a goal just 2:35 into the game on a breakaway by Evgeny Artyukhin, he gave up three goals in the third period to backstop the Senators to a 6-3 loss against the Atlanta Thrashers on Thursday night.
