Solid start to camp for Fisher

Solid start to camp for Fisher  One could hardly blame Mike Fisher if he was a little distracted considering the busy summer he had, but the veteran centre is focused and more than ready to play.

"I have had a lot going on, but I'm ready to play," he said. "I'm excited that we're all back and I'm looking forward to the year."

Fisher had a great start to last season scoring 15 goals and 13 assists in the first 31 games of the year, but had only ten goals and 15 assists in the last 48 games.

He's looking to once again get off to a solid start and finding the right linemates will be key. For now Fisher finds himself between Alex Kovalev and Peter Regin. Regin was a pleasant surprise to the Senators last season and will look to pick up where he left off in the playoffs.

"We had some success throughout different times in the year," siad Fisher. "I think it's going to be a great combo. We all bring something different and come together as a good line."

Fisher is excited to have the opportunity to play with Kovalev as he attributes much of his early season success to his right winger.

"He was a big part of that (success) no question. He makes plays in the right areas. He got me a lot of pucks in scoring areas where I could put it in. (Kovalev) took a lot of heat last year, but he definitely made me better."
