Senators win one for Luke The Senators did it for Luke Saturday night at TD Garden.

Not long after learning assistant coach/former teammate Luke Richardson lost his 14-year-old daughter Daron to injuries suffered in a suicide Friday, the Senators gave it everything they had in a 2-0 victory over the Bruins.

“We dedicate this to just a wonderful family,” said Senators centre Mike Fisher. “When something like this happens, it’s just awful. Our thoughts and prayers are with them.”

Coach Cory Clouston broke down after the game and was at a loss for words.

“If we talk about that I’ll break down,” said Clouston, bowing his head before the media scrum broke up.

Goaltender Brian Elliott was at his best with 31 stops for his seventh career shutout and first against the Bruins. Captain Daniel Alfredsson and defenceman Erik Karlsson scored for the Senators, who beat old nemesis Tim Thomas, whose lifetime record fell to 17-8-0 against Ottawa.
