Senators smoked in Philly

The weight of bad goals and sloppy defence were too heavy for a team that is as fragile as the Ottawa Senators on Thursday night.

The Senators fell behind early, rallied briefly and finally fell 6-2 in National Hockey League action to the host Philadelphia Flyers at Wells Fargo Center.

The Senators’ frustration spilled out in the final seven minutes, which degenerated into a succession of fights and wrestling matches between heavyweights (Chris Neil and Jody Shelley) and lightweights (Daniel Briere and Ryan Shannon).
