Despite the Senators latest struggles Mike Fisher is looking forward to a western road swing.
The Senators are on a nine-day, four-game road trip that will see them making stops in Vancouver, Calgary and Edmonton.
The first game was against the New York Islanders in what ended up a disappointing 5-3 loss.
Fisher and his teammates are hoping this recent tour will help turn the team's fortunes around.
"We've played pretty well lately and the road has been good for the most part," said Fisher. "They're all good buildings to play in, we have a day off, and it's usually always a good trip."
For many players it's also a rare opportunity to catch up with friends and family who live on the west coast.
Fisher also says players are more than likely to get a bit of a break from the endless stream of questions regarding the team's disappointing season.
"It should be a bit of a break. It's been a rough season so it's nice to get away."
While many have questionned the team's desire to compete, Fisher says there's no denying the team's competitive spirit.
"We just need to go out there and play with pride."
