Predators lose to Oilers in shootout Points are at a premium for the Nashville Predators these days.

That is why Nashville's 2-1 shootout loss to NHL-worst Edmonton still felt like a loss to the Predators. Simply put, the Predators gave up a much-needed extra point.

Edmonton got a grind-it-out victory in front of an announced sell-out of 16,839 at Rexall Place. The loss was Nashville's second this season to Edmonton, which has the fewest points in the NHL (50).

"These are the games we must win," Nashville goaltender Pekka Rinne said. "It's a big point — we have to respect that, but right now, it feels like a lost game."
