As a graduate of the University of Wisconsin, Blake Geoffrion is a fast study. This explains how, in just his 11th NHL game, he found out that the best way for him to score is from two or three feet around the net.
The Brentwood native used that strategy to score his first NHL hat trick Sunday, leading the Predators to a 4-3, come-from-behind overtime victory over the Buffalo Sabres at HSBC Arena.
"One of the things I learned real quick in this league is that there's not a lot of guys who score unless you have a (Shea) Weber shot, which I do not have," Geoffrion said. "They were three pretty ugly goals, but I'll take it."
