Mike Fisher underwent successful shoulder surgery today.
The Nashville Predators decided surgery was necessary following the end of the playoff run against the Vancouver Canucks.
Fisher met with team doctors in the days following the Predators Game 6 loss and it was deemed that the sooner the surgery took place the better in order to allow Fisher sufficient time to rehabilitate over the course of the summer.
"It won't be quite the summer I was thinking of, but it's better to get it done now," said Fisher. "I guess there won't be much fishing, but I'll be driving the boat."
Following the surgery Fisher tweeted that all had gone well and doctors called the surgery successful.
Fisher will undergo significant rehabilitation this summer, but is completely confident that he'll be ready for the start of the season.
