Mike Fisher took to the ice for the first time this summer and feels good.
Fisher doesn't anticipate getting full clearance for all-out workouts for another few weeks, but is happy with the progress he's seen.
Fisher, who underwent shoulder surgery following the end of the Nashville Predators playoff run, has been undergoing rehabilitation and been restricted to a limited amount of training.
The 31-year-old is unaccustomed to having to take things easy, but admits in some ways it's made for a great summer.
"It's been a really good summer," he said. "I've been back at home, gone to some weddings and there's lots going on, but this has been good."
Fisher is well known for being a workout fiend and being forced to take a step back has been a bit of an adjustment.
"It's been nice to get away from it all," said Fisher. "At the same point I haven't done as much as I'd like."
Fisher expects to slowly increase his workouts.
