In Columbus, they’re partying like it’s April 2006.
After 17 straight losses in Nashville, the Blue Jackets found victory in Music City. Columbus twice came back from one-goal deficits to beat the Predators 4-3 in overtime Saturday in front of an announced crowd of 16,776 at Bridgestone Arena.
The Predators (10-5-4) still picked up a point, as they have in all four of their games on this homestand and in 11 of their past 13 games.
Only two Blue Jackets players remain from that Columbus team that won on April 3, 2006, — captain Rick Nash and defenseman Aaron Johnson, although Johnson didn’t dress. After Saturday’s game, even Nash was in disbelief.
“It’s a weird feeling in here, but it’s a good feeling,” Nash said.
