Lost opportunities cost goals

Six power-play chances and only one goal from those opportunities played a big role in the Predators’ 6-2 loss to Edmonton on Tuesday.

Nashville even had a 5-on-3 situation for 51 seconds in the second period and came away with nothing. That was one of the three power plays the Predators had in the second period as they tried to come back from a 3-0 deficit.

It wasn’t until the Predators’ fourth power play that they finally scored, with 9:28 remaining in the third period. Jordin Tootoo scored on a tip-in from Shea Weber’s slap shot.
