Comeback effort earns Predators a victory

Pick an adjective to describe the Predators 6-5 victory over the Columbus Blue Jackets.

Inexplicable? That could work.

Bizarre? Add that to the pile.

Baffling? Sure.

No matter what word you use, Nashville somehow ended up victorious.

At 9:36 p.m. Thursday, Martin Erat slid a backhand underneath Columbus goaltender Curtis Sanford with 8.4 seconds left in the game. The sellout crowd went crazy, and seconds later, the Predators exited the Bridgestone Arena ice with a win.
