Without two of their three core superstars in the lineup Tuesday at the Rangers, the Predators were already figuratively shorthanded. And the NHL’s top team made them pay.
The Rangers rode a balanced offensive and defensive to beat the Predators 3-0 at Madison Square Garden on Tuesday.
The loss broke a five game winning streak for the Predators (26-16-4). The Predators were playing their second game in as many days. On Monday they defeated the Islanders on Long Island. Nashville was without All-Star defenseman Ryan Suter, who missed his first full game of the season with an “upper body” injury. The Predators also gave goaltender Pekka Rinne, a Vezina Trophy finalist from last season, a rest and started backup Anders Lindback.
