Nashville goalie Pekka Rinne believes in the cliché “one puck at a time.”
Thursday, Rinne took a lot of pucks one-by-one — 38 total — and he stopped all of them in Nashville’s 3-0 shutout over the Blue Jackets.
The victory was Nashville’s ninth in its last 11 games. It was also Rinne’s fourth shutout of the season, and his first since Nov. 3 over Phoenix. That was his birthday and the day he signed a 7-year, $49 million contract extension.
“You mentally get stronger and stronger as the game goes on,” Rinne said. “You make saves and it feels like the game kind of slows down mentally and physically.”
