The Predators know Pavel Datsyuk’s skills. They understand his soft passing touch, his hands and, most importantly, his shot.
All were on display late Friday in Detroit’s 2-1 victory over Nashville.
Datsyuk scored the game-winner with 5.0 seconds remaining and assisted on Detroit’s other goal in the first period while laying on the ice to lead the Red Wings to victory.
“Fifteen seconds to go, the most dangerous guy (is) on the ice, you knew that the puck was going to him somewhere,” Coach Barry Trotz said. “They made two special plays and had two special goals, and that’s why he is one of the great forwards in the league.”
