Nashville needed just one point Tuesday against the St. Louis Blues to clinch a postseason berth for the seventh time in eight seasons. Instead, they’ll have to continue to wait at least another day.
The Blues did what they do best — get an early lead and clamp down defensively — in a 3-0 win in front of an announced crowd of 19,150 at Scotttrade Center.
“Tonight I thought they were very, very committed to their game on both sides of the puck, physically, emotionally and all those things,” Coach Barry Trotz said. “I thought it was a playoff type of game, and a playoff commitment was needed to beat these guys.”
