Predators fail to pad playoff lead

All season long, the Nashville Predators have figured out ways to come back from all sorts of deficits.

Two goals in the final four minutes? They’ve done it.

Three goals in the third period? Crossed off the list.

Four goals? Well, that proved too great.

The Chicago Blackhawks took advantage of Nashville mistakes to beat the Predators 5-4 on Saturday in front of an announced sellout crowd of 17,113.

The loss kept the Predators (45-26-8) stuck in fourth place with 98 points in the Western Conference standings. Chicago moved to to 97 points, matching the idle Detroit Red Wings, who with one game in hand on the Predators.
