Predators head home trailing 2-0 Nashville Coach Barry Trotz takes great pride in calling his particular type of hockey player a “Predator.”

It’s often an homage to a style Trotz champions — fast, tough on the forecheck, aggressive, strong along the boards, defensive minded.

It’s the same type of style the Coyotes play, and for the second straight game in this second round series, Phoenix out-Predatored Nashville in a 5-3 victory to go up 2-0.

“We are the same kind of team as they are,” said Predators goaltender Pekka Rinne, who made 34 saves in defeat. “They’re playing well. They’re executing and playing the kind of game we want to play, playing with the speed and getting pucks to the net and getting those rebounds and just executing.”
