Over the years Mike Fisher has been interviewed by countless reporters, but never did he imagine that he would be sitting face-to-face with one of the industry's best.
When it comes to interviews there is no bigger media personality than Oprah Winfrey, who ruled television airwaves for more than 20 years.
Last week Fisher and his wife, country superstar Carrie Underwood, sat down with Winfrey to talk about their respective careers and their future plans to build a home together in Nashville.
"It was very cool," said Fisher. "If you're going to have anyone to interview you then she's definitely on your list, not that I ever imagined her wanting to talk to me."
Fisher laughs as he's quick to acknowledge that it was his wife that attracted Winfrey in the first place, and he was more than happy to just be a part of the interview.
"She was very easy to talk to and it was a lot of fun," said Fisher. "She really does a great interview and it's easy to see why she's so good."
The interview airs Sunday, May 20th, on Winfrey's new network, the Oprah Winfrey Network (OWN).
Part of the interview includes a visit to Bridgestone Arena, home of the Nashville Predators, where both Fisher and Underwood spend a great deal of time.
Shortly after sitting with the couple Winfrey tweeted about her interviewing the star couple and Saturday night tweeted a picture of the three on the property where Winfrey planted an "Oprah oak" as a teaser to the upcoming interviews.
Fisher and Underwood are currently in Las Vegas for the 2012 Billboard Awards.
