Mike Fisher is clearly a hockey fan, but what many might not be aware of is his passion for the UFC, Ultimate Fighting Championship.
The sport which has a fiercely loyal group of supporters can count Fisher amongst its biggest fans.
Fisher admits he watches as many fights as possible and if he can't watch the event live he makes sure to record it at home and has even been known to watch the same fight more than once.
"I have a lot of respect for these guys as athletes," said Fisher. "Its incredible how they train both mentally and physically."
The Nashville Predators centre realizes that a number of people find the sport to be extremely violent, and while he understands where they're coming from he also thinks people need to look at the bigger picture.
"It can be brutal," he said. "But I believe there's a lot more respect than people see. These guys really respect one another and I think it's way more entertaining than boxing."
Fisher considers himself fortunate enough to have had the opportunity to see an event live in Nashville, but does admit he almost prefers watching it from the comfort of home.
"I know it's strange, but I like watching it on television almost better than at a live event."
But that's not to say Fisher wouldn't take the opportunity to go to another live event.
