Mike Fisher always believed hockey would be played this season, and he's more than a little relieved that his premonition came true.
From the beginning Fisher was confident the two sides would come to a resolution he just hadn't expected it to take so long.
"It's nice to finally be able to put this behind us and we can finally start thinking about hockey again."
Fisher hasn't examined all the details of the agreement, but says all the players wanted was a fair deal and he believes, for the most part, that was accomplished.
"I think this (new agreement) will help a lot of teams," said Fisher. "We know there are a lot of fans who are upset and rightfully so, but unfortunately these things happen in business. We didn't want this to happen."
Fisher is hopeful fans will return to the game once the season gets underway.
"I think as long as we're playing hard fans will be ok. The fans in Nashville have always been supportive."
Fisher is excited to get back to playing and feels this shortened season will bring a new level of excitement to the game.
"It's definitely going to be different," said Fisher. "I'm confident in our team, we have a lot of guys back and we're all excited to get going.
"It's going to go by really quickly and before you know it the playoffs will be starting."
