Predators drop home opener to Blue Jackets

If there was a common word that emanated throughout the Predators' locker room after their 3-2 season-opening shootout loss to the Columbus Blue Jackets, it was "sloppy."

In front of a sellout crowd of 17,113 on Saturday night at Bridgestone Arena, the Predators made mistakes, turned the puck over and missed on some chances. In a 48-game season without a training camp, that's to be expected. But in such a short year, the Predators know they need to improve - and quickly.
