The Nashville Predators lost both their exhibition games while in Florida, but made the most of their time down south with a team fishing trip.
With so many new faces on the roster this season and the Predators still carrying nearly 60 players in camp the fishing trip gave players an opportunity to get to know one another better.
The fishing was a team-sponsored expedition in the backwaters of Florida near Fort Myers after Wednesday's practice.
Predators' veterans captained boats with a mix of newcomers and young players divided throughout in hopes players would get to know one another better and maybe catch a fish in the process.
"We obviously didn't play so hot, but we got some good days of practice in," said forward Mike Fisher. "And we had a good day of team bonding and fishing."
As an avid outdoorsmen who enjoys fishing and hunting in his spare time it was little surprise that Fisher's team won the competition between the 17 boats.
"It was good," said Fisher. "Now we're all looking forward to playing together as a tighter group."
