The Predators were in position to beat the Flames on Friday night.
They had plenty of scoring chances in the second period and entered the third with a one-goal lead lead before ultimately losing 4-3 at Scotiabank Saddledome.
"Our guys played hard tonight," Predators coach Peter Laviolette said. "They were constantly on the attack. It seemed like we missed the net a little too much, and they blocked a ton of shots. We weren't able to pull away when it was 2-1. I think we continued to press, and it seemed like there was a lot of zone time — we just couldn't find it and get it to go."
