Jets stump Predators in first

WINNIPEG, Manitoba – The Predators were unable to recover from a rough first period in Tuesday night's 3-1 loss to the Winnipeg Jets at MTS Centre.

It began with a pair of early Jets power-play goals and ended with a puck striking Predators coach Peter Laviolette on the bench, leaving a cut above his right eye.

"We got behind early and couldn't battle back," Predators penalty killer Eric Nystrom said. "It's tough when you get down like that."
