Special teams have been a sore spot for the Nashville Predators during the early stages of the season. However, the Predators got two power-play goals and a game-winner from Matt Cullen with 6:13 remaining in regulation Thursday to earn a 3-2 victory against the Dallas Stars at American Airlines Center.
“Yeah, we talked about that. We needed to win the special teams battle,” said Predators coach Peter Laviolette, who's 10-3-0 in his career against Dallas. “It was one of the things we marked. It had to go the other way tonight. We had to win the special-teams battle in order to win the game, and we did.”
