It now seems it's just a matter of weeks before Mike Fisher returns to the Predators lineup.
In a radio interview Predators general manager David Poile said he was hopeful Fisher could return in the next two weeks.
Considering Fisher lacerated his Achilles tendon in early July and was expected to miss four to six months this would put him ahead of the scheduled timetable.
Fisher's return could create an interesting dilemma for head coach Peter Laviolette.
Undoubtedly Laviolette will want to get his alternate captain and last year's fourth leading scorer back in the lineup, but at the same time how much will he want to tinker with a winning lineup.
The Predators currently lead the Central Division and are second overall in the Western Conference. This is an impressive feat considering the Predators had their endless stream of struggles last season.
Wherever Fisher fits in one can't deny he will be a solid addition and a welcome presence both on and off the ice.
