Red Wings end Predators' winning streak

Strange bounces and bad breaks are two ways to look at the Predators’ 5-2 loss to the Detroit Red Wings on Saturday night at Joe Louis Arena.

Kyle Quincey scored one of three Detroit goals in the first period off a series of deflections. And in the second period, Henrik Zetterberg put the Red Wings up 4-1 when his shot from behind the goal line banked off goaltender Marek Mazanec’s head.

"Sometimes with a game like that, it's more mental than physical,” Predators coach Peter Laviolette said. "I thought there were some mistakes that we made tonight. We made them too frequently, and it ended up costing us."
