Predators stop Avs in OT

After suffering their first two-game losing streak heading into the NHL All-Star break, the last thing the Predators  wanted to do was come out of it with another loss.

Things looked a little tenuous on that front on Tuesday, when Colorado scored a game-tying goal late in regulation to spoil what appeared to be a Nashville regulation victory. In the end, however, it took the Predators just a few more minutes to start the post All-Star break portion of their schedule on a positive note.

Forward Craig Smith made sure that was the case, scoring on a breakaway with 2:14 left in overtime to give the Predators a 4-3 win over Colorado in front of 15,566 at Bridgestone Arena.
