In a perfect world, play-making Predators center
Mike Ribeiro would rather pass than shoot, a preference that's illustrated in
his career stats — 213 goals and 487 assists.
But when Ribeiro has made up his mind to
shoot this season, good things have happened for the Predators.
That was the case Saturday afternoon, as
the last of Ribeiro's four shots — a laser of a slapshot from the faceoff
circle — flew past New York Rangers goalie Cam Talbot in the third period and
gave the Predators a 3-2 victory at sold-out Bridgestone Arena.
It was the 700th career NHL point for
Ribeiro, a milestone many figured he'd reach with an assist.
