Preds even series with big third period

Craig Smith had two goals and an assist to help the Nashville Predators draw even in their Western Conference First Round series against the Chicago Blackhawks with a 6-2 victory at Bridgestone Arena on Friday.

The Predators scored three goals in less than 140 seconds in the third period to put the game out of reach. The best-of-7 series is tied 1-1.

"It's big," Smith said. "You can see it as a result of our hard work, and just stayed with it. Pressuring pucks and creating turnovers and just legging it shift to shift. We were persistent, and good things are going to happen."
