The Predators concluded 2015 in
unceremonious fashion as they were on the receiving end of a 5-1 rout against
the Western Conference-leading Stars on New Year's Eve.
"It's 5-1," said Predators
goaltender Pekka Rinne, who lost his eighth consecutive road start. "We
got a pretty good (beatdown) over here."
Thursday was the Predators' first
opportunity this season to see the dynamic Stars and their almost irrepressible
offensive attack up close. Nashville wasn’t initially overmatched, keeping pace
through the first half of the game. But the Stars can be restrained
for only so long as their five unanswered goals attest.
