The Central Division has rightfully developed a reputation as the NHL's toughest. As an example of that competitiveness, four of the league's top 10 teams reside within that division, more than any other.
The Predators aren't one of those four teams and are far from it, really. Nashville's 3-2 loss to Chicago on Tuesday was its 10th loss in 14 divisional games this season. The Predators' 4-9-1 record and nine total points are among the worst in the league. Only two teams — Toronto and Pittsburgh — have collected fewer points within their respective divisions.
