Predators floundering in 3-on-3 overtime

Defenseman Roman Josi kneeled dejectedly in the Predators’ crease at the conclusion of Monday’s overtime loss to the Stars, unable to prevent forward Mattias Janmark from sliding the game-winning goal into a wide-open net. Josi angrily swung his stick into the post, as if to say, "Not again."

Watching their opponents spill over the bench to celebrate a sudden-death victory has been far too commonplace for the Predators. In games decided within the three-on-three overtime period that the NHL introduced this season, they are 1-9, with the latest loss to the Stars tying them with the Canucks for the most in the league.
