Predators prepare for Ducks

A six-day layoff between the Predators’ regular-season finale and Game 1 of their playoff series against the Ducks on Friday, the longest in the NHL, has allowed for plenty of time to analyze the keys to a first-round victory.

One that has regularly been mentioned is Anaheim's special-teams proficiency. The Ducks were the first team since the 1984-85 New York Islanders to finish a season with the league's best power play (23.1 percent) and penalty kill (87.2 percent).

Knowing how pivotal those special-teams opportunities can be in a playoff series, the Predators must avoid giving the Ducks too many chances to take advantage.
