Sharks edge Predators

The San Jose Sharks weren't at their best, but they were good enough to withstand a desperate effort by the Nashville Predators for a 3-2 victory Sunday at SAP Center in Game 2 of their Western Conference Second Round series.

San Jose leads the best-of-7 series 2-0. Game 3 is Tuesday at Nashville.

Joe Pavelski scored the tie-breaking goal with 2:40 left in the third period, Logan Couture scored a power-play goal in the second period, and Martin Jones made 37 saves for the Sharks. Joe Thornton had an empty-net goal with 55.6 seconds remaining.
